R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Joe and Ora Williams of Midland attained a memorable 
milestone in their lives with the celebration of their 50th wedding 
anniversary in April 2003; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Williams and the former Ora Johnson were married 
on April 20, 1953; over the years their family has grown to include 
four cherished children, Janice Jackson, Loree Clay, Robert 
Williams, and Joe Williams, Jr., as well as six grandchildren and 
one great-grandchild, to whom they are deeply devoted; and
	WHEREAS, The couple are valued members of Mount Calvary 
Missionary Baptist Church, where Mr. Williams serves as a deacon 
and Mrs. Williams sings with the choir; Mrs. Williams also serves on 
the board of directors of Midland Memorial Hospital and is involved 
with AARP and RSVP; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Williams marked their golden 
anniversary with a dinner on April 12, 2003, at the Southeast Senior 
Center; and
	WHEREAS, During their five decades together, this treasured 
couple have nurtured a loving and close-knit family, and their 
commitment to each other remains a source of pride and inspiration 
to all who know them; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Joe and Ora Williams on the 
occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them 
sincere best wishes for continued happiness in the years ahead; 
and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Williams as an expression of high regard 
by the Texas House of Representatives.
