R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Bill and Wynell Rickey of Midland marked a special 
milestone in their lives when they celebrated their 50th wedding 
anniversary on May 17, 2003, with a dinner and reception at 
Kesslers; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Rickey were wed on May 19, 1953, in 
Duncan, Oklahoma; in the ensuing years, they have been blessed with 
two children, Steve and Glen Rickey, as well as five grandchildren; 
and
	WHEREAS, Before moving to Midland in 1970, the Rickeys lived 
in Durango, Colorado, and Altamont, Illinois; Mr. Rickey worked for 
Humble Oil and Refining Company and Exxon, while Mrs. Rickey was 
employed as an assistant manager for Skibell's during her career; 
and
	WHEREAS, Valued members of their community, Mr. and Mrs. 
Rickey belong to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4149, American 
Legion Post 19, and the Elks BPOE Lodge 2086; and
	WHEREAS, For half a century, this devoted couple have shared 
an enduring union filled with many happy times and cherished family 
memories, and it is a privilege to recognize all they have 
accomplished in their life together; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Bill and Wynell Rickey on the 
joyous occasion of their golden wedding anniversary and extend to 
them best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Rickey as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
