R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Hulan and Virginia Harrison of Midland attained a memorable milestone in April 2003 with the celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary; and WHEREAS, Mr. Harrison and the former Virginia Sharp were married on April 18, 1953, in Hobbs, New Mexico; over the years their family has grown to include four cherished children, Kathy Smith, Patti Higgins, Jay Harrison, and Leland Harrison, and three beloved grandchildren; and WHEREAS, The Harrisons lived in Jal, New Mexico, and El Paso before moving to Midland in 1992; formerly employed by El Paso Natural Gas Company, Mr. Harrison retired in 1983 and served as a consultant to the company until 1999; Mrs. Harrison is a literacy instructor for Midland Need to Read and teaches Sunday school at Alamo Heights Baptist Church; and WHEREAS, During their five decades together, this treasured couple have nurtured a loving and close-knit family, and their commitment to each other has been a source of inspiration and pride to all who know them; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Hulan and Virginia Harrison on the occasion of their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness in the years ahead; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Harrison as an expression of high esteem by the Texas House of Representatives.
