R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans 
who have shared 50 happy and fulfilling years of marriage is truly a 
memorable occasion; and
	WHEREAS, Midland residents Wesley and Bertha Wright recently 
commemorated this momentous event in their lives when they 
celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at a special family 
dinner party; and
	WHEREAS, Wesley Wright and the former Bertha May Blankenship 
exchanged their wedding vows on May 5, 1953, at a ceremony held in 
Weinert; in the years that followed, Mr. Wright pursued a 
successful career with Welex, a division of Halliburton, and Mrs. 
Wright built a loving home life for the couple's three children, 
Mark, Margie, and Sharon, all of whom still reside in the Permian 
Basin area; and
	WHEREAS, Remaining active and energetic in their retirement,  
the Wrights are members of the community of faith at Crestview 
Baptist Church and take immense pride in the accomplishments of 
their seven cherished grandchildren; and
	WHEREAS, Since becoming husband and wife a half-century ago, 
this devoted couple have enjoyed an enduring relationship that has 
grown in love and mutual respect with each passing year, and they 
remain a source of delight and inspiration to the friends with whom 
they have shared the richness of their life together; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Wesley and Bertha Wright on the 
occasion of their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them 
warmest best wishes for much happiness in the years to come; and, be 
it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Wright as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
