R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, On April 5, 2003, George and Lola Moore of Midland
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, marking a golden
milestone in their long and happy union; and
WHEREAS, Joined in marriage on April 4, 1953, at Midland
Church of God, Mr. Moore and the former Lola Rinehart share a warm
and fulfilling relationship that is an inspiration to all who know
them; the couple take great pride in their family, which includes
three children, Kathy Marcom, Greg Moore, and Beth Masters, seven
grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Valued citizens of Midland, the Moores are active
members of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees
and Midland Church of God, where Mrs. Moore teaches Sunday school;
and
WHEREAS, Mr. Moore is a veteran of World War II and the Korean
War and made a career as an accountant for Paul Brooks grocery and
Hays Construction until his retirement in 1989; Mrs. Moore enjoys
working as a relief nurse at Permian Cardiology; and
WHEREAS, For five decades, Mr. and Mrs. Moore have filled
each other's lives with love, and their marriage has been enriched
by cherished family memories and many joyful times; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate George and Lola Moore on their 50th
wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for the
future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Moore as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
