R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Five members of Girl Scouts of America Senior Troop 539 in Austin have completed the rigorous requirements to attain the Girl Scout Gold Award, and this accomplishment is truly worthy of special recognition; and WHEREAS, Under the leadership of Deborah Delgado and Therese Smith, Madelaine Delgado, Kelly Kline, Samantha Littlefield, Robin Rogers, and Nicole Wagner demonstrated the skills and determination necessary for such a high honor and earned the respect and admiration of their fellow scouts through their strong commitment to the program and its ideals; and WHEREAS, To achieve this award, a girl must meet several requirements that promote community service, personal and spiritual growth, positive values, and leadership skills; she must earn four interest project awards, the Career Exploration and Challenge pins, and the Senior Girl Scout Leadership Award, as well as complete a special Girl Scout Gold Award project that leaves a positive and lasting impact on society; and WHEREAS, Upon completion of these acts, these noteworthy individuals found their places among a host of excellent young women who have also received this highest award in Girl Scouting; they have proven themselves to be exemplary members of the Girl Scouts, and it is indeed appropriate to join their families, friends, and fellow scouts in recognizing them for their recent achievement; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Madelaine Delgado, Kelly Kline, Samantha Littlefield, Robin Rogers, and Nicole Wagner on receiving the Girl Scout Gold Award on April 6, 2003, and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for each girl as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
