H.R. No. 1537



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Jeanette Rodriguez of Donna has earned a place among 
the finest student-musicians in Texas as a member of the 2003 
All-State 5A Concert Band; and
	WHEREAS, An exceptional clarinet player, this gifted young 
woman gave outstanding performances at district, regional, and area  
competitions before earning her spot in the state band; for her 
efforts, she was invited to perform with her peers at the 2003 Texas 
Music Educators Association Convention held in San Antonio on 
February 12-15; and
	WHEREAS, The daughter of Juan and Sandra Rodriguez, Ms. 
Rodriguez is a junior at Donna High School and both the school's 
assistant band director, Ralph Tinoco, and director, Oscar Herrera, 
have played a role in helping her hone her musical talent; and
	WHEREAS, Jeanette Rodriguez's success is a source of great 
pride to her family, friends, and teachers, and it is a pleasure to 
join them in honoring her on her recent achievement; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Jeanette Rodriguez on her 
selection to the 2003 All-State 5A Concert Band and that she be 
extended sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; 
and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Ms. Rodriguez as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
