R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Eric Lynn Johnson has demonstrated admirable
determination and abilities in achieving academic excellence,
placing himself firmly on a path toward a bright and rewarding
future; and
WHEREAS, After graduating from the Greenhill School, Mr.
Johnson attended Harvard University, where he joined the Theta Iota
Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and graduated with an A.B. cum
laude in history; he returned to Texas and worked during the 76th
Texas Legislative Session in the office of State Representative
Yvonne Davis of District 111; and
WHEREAS, When the legislative session ended, Mr. Johnson was
accepted to the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International
Affairs at Princeton University and then into the University of
Pennsylvania Law School as a Public Interest Scholar; serving as
editor of the University of Pennsylvania Journal of International
Economic Law, Mr. Johnson earned the degrees of juris doctor and
master of public affairs in international relations in the spring
of 2003; and
WHEREAS, Committed to serving Dallas and the Lone Star
State, Mr. Johnson is seeking admission to the State Bar of Texas;
he will undoubtedly make numerous worthwhile contributions to his
community and continue to be a source of great pride to his family
and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Eric Lynn Johnson on his many
achievements and extend to him warmest best wishes for continued
success and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Johnson as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
