R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Kimberly Lavon Irby is celebrating a significant milestone in her life on May 31, 2003, when she graduates from Pflugerville High School; and WHEREAS, Born on March 24, 1985, in Austin to Kim and David Irby and a descendant of Jefferson Davis and Andrew Jackson through her mother's family, Ms. Irby attended Anderson High School, taking mostly honors classes, from ninth grade to the first semester of 11th grade, when she transferred to Pflugerville High School; and WHEREAS, Ms. Irby's success in high school is based on her admirable scholastic record at Redeemer Lutheran School, which she attended for her elementary and middle school years; as an eighth-grader, she was a member of the cheerleading squad that took the silver in a National Cheerleading Association contest (missing first place by only .04 point), and she was named best actress in the district for her performance in the lead female role in The Falcon in PSIA competition; and WHEREAS, In addition to dedicating her time and energy to her studies, Ms. Irby has made significant contributions as a house sergeant during the 78th Texas Legislative Session, earning the admiration and appreciation of house members for her professionalism; and WHEREAS, Kimberly Lavon Irby is an impressive young woman who has demonstrated exemplary commitment in attaining her goals; her energy, enthusiasm, and perseverance typify the finest qualities of young Texans, and she is most deserving of our highest praise; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Kimberly Lavon Irby on her graduation from Pflugerville High School and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success and fulfillment in the years to come; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Irby as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
