R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The untimely passing of Pedro "Pipirin" Villarreal,
Jr., of Mission on May 14, 2003, has brought a tremendous sense of
sadness to the family and many friends of this beloved son, husband,
father, and grandfather; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Villarreal was born in Mission, Texas, on August
24, 1935, to Emma Villarreal and the late Pedro Villarreal, Sr.; and
WHEREAS, An active member of Woodmen of the World, he was a
member of the National Guard and the former owner of Villarreal's
Grocery Store; he was also a loyal employee of TCI for 15 years,
where he won the lasting respect of his colleagues for his
dedication to his position; and
WHEREAS, Pedro Villarreal was a man devoted to his family who
had been married for 39 years, and while he will be greatly missed,
his memory will live on in the hearts and minds of the many people
whose lives he touched; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Pedro "Pipirin"
Villarreal, Jr., and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his
family: to his mother, Emma Villarreal; to his wife, Hermila
Villarreal; to his son, Pedro Villarreal III and his wife, Jan
Wardell; to his daughter, Velma Villarreal Morales and her husband,
Archie Morales; to his brother, Noe Villarreal and his wife,
Ludivina; to his grandchildren, Skye E. Villarreal and Christian J.
Morales; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Pedro
"Pipirin" Villarreal, Jr.
