R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The family and friends of Juanita S. Carrasco of El
Paso were deeply saddened by the passing of this esteemed woman on
May 19, 2003, at the age of 79; and
WHEREAS, Born on December 23, 1923, in California, Mrs.
Carrasco moved to El Paso at an early age, where she lived for the
remainder of her life; the matriarch of a large family, she had a
happy and successful marriage with her husband, the late Epitacio
"Tacho" P. Carrasco, and she was also beloved as a caring mother,
grandmother, and great-grandmother; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Carrasco touched the lives of many people, and
her memory will be cherished in the hearts of those who were
fortunate enough to have known her; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby pay special tribute to the life of Juanita S.
Carrasco and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family:
to her sons, Joe S. Carrasco and Rudy S. Carrasco; to her daughters,
Viola Blanco and Patsy C. Urias; to her grandchildren; to her
great-grandchildren; to her brothers, Arturo Sanchez and Ray
Trujillo; to her sisters, Lucilla Hidalgo, Emma Owens, Maggie
Moreno, Nellie Carrasco, Annie Bowling, and Flora Aparicio; and to
her other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Juanita S.
Carrasco.
