R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to
congratulate Zach Summers of Waco on the occasion of his graduation
from Baylor University on May 17, 2003; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Summers demonstrated initiative, leadership,
and a determination to succeed during an undergraduate career that
culminated in his receipt of a bachelor of business administration
degree with an emphasis in human resource management; he was
particularly motivated and inspired by two of his professors,
Blaine McCormick and Joe Cox, and by his favorite course,
negotiation and conflict resolution; an aspiring attorney, he hopes
to attend Baylor Law School in spring 2004; and
WHEREAS, While enrolled at Baylor, Mr. Summers participated
in the work and activities of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity;
moreover, he took a semester off during his junior year to be
involved with a community service project, volunteering at Sharptop
Cove, a Young Life Camp in Georgia, as a construction crew member
building new dormitories for the camp; and
WHEREAS, Zach Summers is an impressive young man who has
shown exemplary commitment in attaining his college degree; his
integrity, willingness to help others, and determination to succeed
typify the finest qualities of young Texans, and he is most
deserving of recognition for his outstanding accomplishment; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Zach Summers on his graduation from
Baylor University and extend to him warmest best wishes for a bright
and promising future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Summers as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
