R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, David Gonzalez and Corrine Sumpter-Gonzalez have 
accomplished much in their life together thus far, and their 
relationship will soon take on another exciting dimension when they 
welcome the birth of their first child; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Gonzalez met Corrine Sumpter while they were 
students at Stanford Law School; although she may not have viewed 
their first outing as a date, she soon realized that their 
friendship was destined for much more; and
	WHEREAS, In 1999, Mr. Gonzalez started The Gonzalez Firm in 
Austin, which initially operated out of a friend's home; after Ms. 
Sumpter returned from a fellowship in Washington, D.C., the couple 
were united in marriage, celebrating this momentous occasion with 
friends and family on October 6, 2001; and
	WHEREAS, Committed to representing the good in people, this 
notable duo formed Sumpter & Gonzalez, a successful law firm in 
Austin  specializing in criminal defense in 2002; and
	WHEREAS, This year marks yet another milestone in the 
couple's union, as they are expecting their first child in late 
June, a long-awaited arrival that will no doubt bring great joy to 
the lives of many; and
	WHEREAS, Their many achievements to date foretell that Mr. 
Gonzalez and Mrs. Sumpter-Gonzalez may look forward to a bright and 
promising future together, and it is indeed a pleasure to recognize 
them at this time; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate David Gonzalez and Corrine 
Sumpter-Gonzalez on their many successes and extend to them sincere 
best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Gonzalez and Mrs. Sumpter-Gonzalez as an 
expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
