H.R. No. 1665
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Dr. Craig Thomas of Dallas has been selected to
serve as optometrist of the day for the Texas House of
Representatives on this day, May 30, 2003; and
WHEREAS, The owner of his own practice, 1st Eye Care, since
1983, Dr. Thomas is a valued member of numerous professional
organizations, including the Texas Optometric Association, which
has honored him in the past as the recipient of its prestigious
President's Award and Optometrist of the Year award; and
WHEREAS, Over the course of his career, Dr. Thomas has earned
a number of other honors that reflect the high esteem in which he is
held throughout the community; among these are the President's
Award from the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance, Top Cat
Award from the Dallas Independent School District, Outstanding
Texan Award from the Texas Legislative Black Caucus, and Quest For
Success Award from the Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, For many years, Craig Thomas has helped countless
Texans to attain clearer vision, and the members of this chamber are
pleased to recognize him at this time; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby honor Dr. Craig Thomas for his outstanding
contributions to the field of optometry and commend him on the
occasion of his service as optometrist of the day; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Dr. Thomas as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
