R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Residents of Presidio County twice elected Jaime Ramirez as their county commissioner, and it is a pleasure to honor him for his distinguished public service; and WHEREAS, Mr. Ramirez began his tenure as county commissioner on January 1, 1997, and over the ensuing years, he was instrumental in procuring more than $3 million in state and federal grants for the county; his dedication won him the respect and admiration of many people in the community, and he was reelected to the position; and WHEREAS, This esteemed gentleman graduated from Presidio High School in 1994 as the class salutatorian and went on to attend El Paso Community College and Sul Ross State University; he earned a United States Customs broker license in 2002 and recently graduated from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, Georgia; and WHEREAS, In addition, he has given generously of his time and talents in support of such noteworthy local groups as the Knights of Columbus, the appraisal review board, and the Development Corporation of Presidio; he is also a volunteer little league coach and president of the organization; and WHEREAS, Jaime Ramirez has long demonstrated his tremendous commitment to serving the people of Presidio County, and his contributions to the community have positively affected the quality of life enjoyed by countless area residents; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby commend Jaime Ramirez on his outstanding service as county commissioner for Presidio County and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Ramirez as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
