H.R. No. 1685
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Anna Gaytan of Dorothy Thompson Middle School has
been named Secondary Teacher of the Year for 2002-2003 by the
Progreso Independent School District (ISD); and
WHEREAS, A graduate of The University of Texas at
Brownsville, Mrs. Gaytan has been an educator since 1995, teaching
language arts and coaching volleyball, cross country, and track;
and
WHEREAS, The teacher of the year award recognizes innovative
teachers who demonstrate excellent classroom organizational
skills, promote a positive learning environment, and work well with
colleagues, parents, and the community, and Mrs. Gaytan truly meets
each of these criteria; and
WHEREAS, This notable teacher inspires her students to excel,
equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary for a
successful future; during her tenure with Progreso ISD, she has
earned a special place in the hearts of her students as well as the
respect and admiration of her colleagues and friends, and she is
most deserving of special legislative recognition at this time;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Anna Gaytan on being named
2002–2003 Secondary Teacher of the Year by the Progreso Independent
School District and extend to her best wishes for continued success
and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mrs. Gaytan as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
