R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Jesse Bernal has ably served the citizens of Texas 
as chief of staff for State Representative Miguel Wise since 1997, 
exhibiting a level of loyalty and expertise that is legendary among 
denizens of the Capitol Complex; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Bernal has worked at the State Capitol for 15 
years, during which time he has demonstrated a work ethic as 
distinctive as his signature ties and suspenders; and
	WHEREAS, Recognized among his fellow staffers as a patient 
mentor who possesses detailed knowledge about every piece of 
legislation and issue that comes up, he also never ceases to amaze 
his coworkers with his savant-like ability to recall phone numbers 
from the Capitol Complex directory; and
	WHEREAS, A night owl prone to rattling off e-mail at all 
hours, Mr. Bernal is a graduate of Leadership Austin and devotes 
portions of his copious energy to serving on the board of Goodwill 
Industries; and
	WHEREAS, Whether motivating his coworkers,  scrounging food 
for the staff, or "cracking wise" with the boss, Mr. Bernal is an 
integral member of the legislative team, and his experience and 
hard work are truly invaluable; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby honor Jesse Bernal for his dedicated service to 
the constituents of District 39 and all Texans and extend to him 
best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Bernal as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
