R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Ruben "Ram" de Leon has been named interim Donna police chief, and he brings a renewed sense of optimism and hope to the city's police department; and WHEREAS, Since joining the force in 1995, Chief de Leon has exemplified the highest ideals of law enforcement, and he is confident that the Donna Police Department is on the threshold of a promising future; and WHEREAS, The department has already undergone numerous changes since he took his place at the helm; his early initiatives include adding four new patrol cars to the fleet and overseeing a facelift for the police station building; and WHEREAS, These recent upgrades accurately reflect a new era of progress unfolding under the able leadership of Chief de Leon; through his hard work, dedication, and unwavering sense of integrity, he will undoubtedly achieve his many worthwhile goals and be a source of great pride to the Donna community; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Ruben "Ram" de Leon on his appointment as interim police chief for the city of Donna and extend to him best wishes for success in this demanding role; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Chief de Leon as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
