R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to 
congratulate Thomas Edward O'Rourke, Jr., of Houston on his high 
school graduation; and
	WHEREAS, Homeschooled for 13 years, Mr. O'Rourke 
participated in the Houston Area Home School Graduation Program on 
May 17, 2003;  the event is held under the auspices of the 
Homeschool Christian Youth Association, which promotes home 
education and the development of Christian-based leadership and 
character through opportunities for family involvement in academic 
endeavors, recreational and competitive sports, and social 
activities; and
	WHEREAS, Over the course of his high school career, Mr. 
O'Rourke has shown initiative, leadership, and a determination to 
succeed; he is focused on establishing a career in the golfing 
industry and currently trains with a nationally recognized golf 
coach and is employed at Kingwood Country Club; moreover, he is a 
member of the Houston Golf Association, Texas Junior Golf, and 
Houston's First Baptist Golf Club; and
	WHEREAS, Thomas Edward O'Rourke is an impressive young man 
who has demonstrated exemplary commitment in attaining his high 
school diploma; his energy, enthusiasm, and perseverance typify the 
finest qualities of young Texans, and he is most deserving of 
commendation for his achievement of this significant 
accomplishment; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Thomas Edward O'Rourke, Jr., on his 
high school graduation and extend to him sincere best wishes for 
success and fulfillment in the years to come; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. O'Rourke as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
