R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, In 2003, Senior Chief Petty Officer Jaime Garza 
Gutierrez was named Staff Senior Sailor of the Quarter by the 
Commander Submarine Force, United States Pacific Fleet 
(COMSUBPAC), to the great delight of the family, friends, and 
colleagues of this accomplished Texas native; and
	WHEREAS, In 1994, Senior Chief Gutierrez served as both 
assistant scheduling officer and force plans assistant for 
COMSUBPAC, consistently performing his demanding duties in an 
exemplary and highly professional manner; during this time, he 
produced complex submarine schedules that vastly improved military 
readiness and devoted many hundreds of hours to coordinating, 
producing, and maintaining critical computer graphics; and
	WHEREAS, These projects were of immense benefit to the United 
States armed forces, as his work formed the core of 18 successful 
multimedia briefings given to flag officers and high-ranking 
dignitaries such as the vice chief of naval operations; Senior 
Chief Gutierrez has garnered much-deserved commendation over the 
course of his illustrious military career, and he is truly a source 
of great pride to his alma mater, Edcouch-Elsa High School, and to 
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Gutierrez of Edcouch; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby commend Senior Chief Petty Officer Jaime Garza 
Gutierrez for his meritorious service to this nation and extend to 
him best wishes for continued success in his future endeavors; and, 
be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Senior Chief Gutierrez as an expression of high regard 
by the Texas House of Representatives.
