R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Throughout his education, Samuel Edward Pedraza has 
shown initiative, leadership, and a determination to succeed, and 
his graduation from The University of Texas at Austin with a 
bachelor's degree in economics provides a fitting opportunity to 
honor this exceptional young man; and
	WHEREAS, Born on December 27, 1980, to Edward and Adela 
Pedraza, this outstanding Texan graduated from Poth High School in 
1998 and attended the University of the Incarnate Word and The 
University of Texas at San Antonio before settling in the Capitol 
City; and
	WHEREAS, A member of University Democrats and Students for 
Ron Kirk, he is a fan of the San Antonio Spurs, Tori Amos, and the 
Dixie Chicks and also enjoys cooking, politics, working out, and 
drinking margaritas at Trudy's; he now plans to move to Los Angeles, 
where he undoubtedly will be a STAR (and possibly even get a job); 
and
	WHEREAS, Samuel Edward Pedraza is an impressive young man 
whose dedication, enthusiasm, and perseverance typify the finest 
qualities of this nation's next generation of leaders, and he is 
most deserving of recognition; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Samuel Edward Pedraza on his 
graduation from The University of Texas at Austin and extend to him 
sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it 
further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Pedraza as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
