R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Since 1994 the Montana Vista Senior Citizens Nutrition Center has provided much-needed health care services, extracurricular activities, and other important types of support to senior citizens living in El Paso; and WHEREAS, This exemplary organization, which is operated under the auspices of the El Paso County Senior Citizens Nutrition Program, helps West Texas seniors to remain healthy, active, and energetic; dances and aerobics classes are offered at the center, which also hosts picnics and out-of-town trips and regularly sponsors a wide variety of activities such as bingo, loteria, dominoes, and card games; and WHEREAS, The success of the Montana Vista Senior Citizens Nutrition Center would not be possible without the support of its many dedicated officers, who include president Lorenzo Barrior, vice president Alberto Portillo, secretary Rosa Carbajal, treasurer Alberto Rangeli, and coordinator Sofia Portillo; those at the center are making notable contributions toward the betterment of others, and they are indeed deserving of special recognition at this time; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby commend the officers, staff, and volunteers of the Montana Vista Senior Citizens Nutrition Center for their outstanding service in behalf of elderly residents in the Lone Star State; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the Montana Vista Senior Citizens Nutrition Center as an expression of high regard and best wishes by the Texas House of Representatives.
