                                                                  H.R. No. 1731



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Danny Padilla, Jr., of Tornillo recently 
accomplished an amazing feat when he hit four home runs, including 
one grand slam, on May 24, 2003, in a single Little League baseball 
game; and
	WHEREAS, A first baseman for the Tornillo Coyotitos, 
eight-year-old Danny awed teammates and spectators alike with his 
power-hitting display; and
	WHEREAS, Each of Danny's homers cleared the outfield fence, 
demonstrating strength and skill uncommon in someone so young, and 
his efforts have earned him recognition as the league's best 
offensive player; and
	WHEREAS, Citizens of El Paso County's Lower Valley region are 
justifiably proud of this special young man, and it is a pleasure to 
join in paying tribute to him; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby honor Danny Padilla, Jr., for his athletic feat 
on May 24, 2003, and extend to him best wishes for continued success 
and happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Padilla as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
