R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Manny Diaz of Socorro High School has been named to 
the 2003 El Paso Times All-City boys' track and field team, and he 
is most deserving of this prestigious honor; and
	WHEREAS, A force to be reckoned with in two events, this 
exceptional competitor finished the season as the 10th-fastest 
300-meter hurdler in the nation and posted a time of 14.16 seconds 
in the 110-meter hurdles; and
	WHEREAS, Also an All-City tailback on the school's football 
team, Mr. Diaz plans to pursue his higher education and continue his 
athletic endeavors at The University of Texas at El Paso; and
	WHEREAS, This remarkable student-athlete has achieved elite 
status by combining his considerable physical gifts with an 
unyielding determination to excel, and his accomplishments make him 
a source of pride to his family, his school, and his community; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Manny Diaz on his selection to the 
El Paso Times All-City boys' track and field team; and, be it 
further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Diaz as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
