R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, In February 2003, police lieutenant Diana Kirk was 
promoted to criminal investigations division commander for the El 
Paso Police Department; and
	WHEREAS, A police officer for 18 years, Lieutenant Kirk is 
respected for her dedication to her work and, over the years, her 
professionalism and integrity have benefited not only the El Paso 
Police Department but also residents throughout the El Paso area; 
and
	WHEREAS, Lieutenant Kirk's initiative and leadership skills 
have been reflected in her assignments; while serving in the Crimes 
Against Children Division, she helped to develop key procedures 
involving juvenile cases that continue to be taught, and her 
outstanding accomplishments bode well for her career as CID 
commander; and
	WHEREAS, Diana Kirk has established herself as a police 
officer of distinction and, as she opens a new chapter in her 
career, it is fitting that she be recognized for her many 
accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate El Paso police officer Diana Kirk 
on her promotion to criminal investigations division commander and 
extend to her sincere best wishes for success and happiness in all 
her future endeavors; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Lieutenant Kirk as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
