R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Louise Proctor has given generously of her time and talents to Project Linus, and through her selfless endeavors she is bringing comfort to families facing crisis; and WHEREAS, Project Linus is a program that provides security blankets to children who are seriously ill; started nationally in 1995, this visionary organization has delivered more than 600,000 blankets worldwide; and WHEREAS, At age 93, Mrs. Proctor is the oldest member of the El Paso chapter of Project Linus; she joined the chapter soon after it formed about a year ago and has lovingly hand-crocheted and donated 18 blankets, each with a special touch and attention to detail; and WHEREAS, Beloved by all who know her, this remarkable woman does not accept boredom; she stays in communication with family and friends through the Internet and her fax machine, and when not chrocheting she may be making Indian talking sticks; she is truly an inspiration to all who know of her and is most deserving of special praise; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby commend Louise Proctor for her work in behalf of children and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mrs. Proctor as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
