R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Guadalupe Barrios of El Paso has diligently pursued
his goals, and his perseverance has enabled him to accomplish much
in his life thus far; and
WHEREAS, When he was only two days old, Mr. Barrios lost the
lower half of his right arm to gangrene; despite his disability,
this determined young man has become an accomplished guitarist,
demonstrating a dedication and ingenuity possessed by few; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Barrios spent much of his young adulthood in
Guadalajara, Mexico, and moved to El Paso independently as a
teenager to pursue his education; now 19, he is graduating from
Jefferson High School, holds a job, and has his own apartment; and
WHEREAS, Guadalupe Barrios is an inspiration to his family,
friends, and classmates, and the accomplishments and the promise of
this remarkable young man truly foretell a bright and fulfilling
future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Guadalupe Barrios on his high
school graduation and many achievements and extend to him sincere
best wishes for continued happiness and success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Barrios as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
