H.R. No. 1771



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Harry Lee Duffy of Crosby has been ordained to the 
Sacred Order of Priests in the Catholic Church, and this auspicious 
occasion is indeed deserving of special recognition; and
	WHEREAS, Father Harry's ordination to the Sacred Order of 
Priesthood in the Order of St. Joseph Society of the Sacred Heart 
took place on May 24, 2003, at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church 
in Houston; and
	WHEREAS, A native Texan, he was born July 11, 1959, to proud 
parents Mr. and Mrs. Horace Duffy, Sr.; this esteemed gentleman 
graduated from Crosby High School and attended Prairie View A&M 
University before receiving a bachelor of science degree from 
Xavier University in Louisiana; and
	WHEREAS, The calling to the priesthood is perhaps one of the 
most blessed and rewarding experiences in a young man's life; much 
dedication, strength of character, wisdom, and gentleness of heart 
are needed to embrace this challenging vocation, and for his 
steadfast commitment, Father Harry is truly worthy of praise; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Harry Lee Duffy on the occasion of 
his ordination and extend to him sincere best wishes for a happy and 
rewarding ministry; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Father Harry as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
