R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Krystina Ashley Adkins graduated from the Texas School for the Deaf on May 29, 2003, and this joyous occasion represents a significant milestone for this outstanding young Texan; and WHEREAS, While high school graduation is a memorable event in the life of every student, the ceremony holds special significance for Ms. Adkins, for she has overcome physical adversity to successfully complete the requirements for a diploma; and WHEREAS, Ms. Adkins, a performer with the Texas School for the Deaf sign choir, has earned several awards in sports during her high school career; she is also respected by her peers and teachers for her commitment to student affairs, having served as both class president and student body president, and her many accomplishments have earned her admission into Gallaudet University, where she will continue her education; and WHEREAS, In the pursuit of her academic goals, Ms. Adkins has demonstrated exceptional initiative and maturity, and she may look forward with anticipation to the myriad challenges and opportunities that lie ahead; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Krystina Ashley Adkins on the momentous occasion of her graduation from the Texas School for the Deaf and extend to her best wishes for continued success and happiness in all her future endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Adkins as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
