H.R. No. 1798
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, All Texans were deeply shocked by the horrific event
that claimed 19 lives when more than 50 people from Mexico and
Central America were trapped inside a tractor-trailer; and
WHEREAS, Each of these individuals left their loved ones
behind and came to this country in search of a better life and the
limitless possibilities that this nation represents to people the
world over; and
WHEREAS, In reflecting on this unspeakable tragedy, our
hearts go out to these victims, and to those who cherish their
memories; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the lives of the victims of this
terrible crime and extend deepest sympathy to all those whose lives
have been profoundly affected by the appalling occurrence; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That when the Texas House of Representatives
adjourns this day, it do so in memory of the individuals who lost
their lives in this heart-rending calamity.
