R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to
recognize Houston native Danielle Vatrice Perry for her exemplary
work with Representative Joe Moreno's office as a member of the
Texas Legislative Internship Program; and
WHEREAS, The daughter of Dr. Earnest Lee Perry, Jr., and
Debra Ann Perry, she enjoys the love and support of her family,
including her younger sister, Alexandra Elaine, in all her
endeavors, and shares an interest in politics with her parents; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Perry is a graduate of R. L. Paschal High School
in Fort Worth and is majoring in political science with a minor in
criminal justice at Southwest Texas State University; following her
May 2004 graduation, she plans to continue her education in a
graduate program on international affairs and security; and
WHEREAS, Administered by the Mickey Leland Center on World
Hunger and Peace at Texas Southern University, the Texas
Legislative Internship Program (TLIP) fosters academic study and
research and offers supervised practical training; Senator Rodney
Ellis serves as program advisor, and his office staff helps to
direct on-site activities; and
WHEREAS, Through her work as a participant in TLIP, Ms. Perry
has enhanced her knowledge of the legislative process and the
issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State, while also gaining
valuable work experience in a political environment; and
WHEREAS, Danielle Perry has demonstrated exceptional
commitment and purposefulness during her tenure in the program, and
she truly merits special legislative recognition for her
contributions to the state; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Danielle Vatrice Perry for her service
as a legislative intern with Representative Joe Moreno and extend
to her sincere best wishes for success and happiness in all her
future endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Perry as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
