R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Ashley Quintanilla is the recipient of the 2003 
Serna Star Award; and
	WHEREAS, The daughter of Daniel Padilla and Yvette 
Quintanilla, the 13-year-old is a seventh-grader at Ernesto Serna 
Middle School in the Socorro Independent School District; and
	WHEREAS, At the close of each school year, members of the 
school's faculty confer the Serna Star Award on a student who has 
demonstrated superb effort not only in academics, but also in 
extracurricular activities and sports, and who has shown 
outstanding citizenship; and
	WHEREAS, Ms. Quintanilla has proven herself worthy of this 
special tribute, and she truly merits special recognition; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Ashley Quintanilla on her receipt 
of the 2003 Serna Star Award and extend to her warmest best wishes 
for success and happiness in the years to come; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Ms. Quintanilla as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
