R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Daniel Omar Ramón is celebrating his 24th birthday on June 1, 2003, and the Texas House of Representatives is pleased to recognize this accomplished young Texan on this significant occasion; and WHEREAS, A member of State Representative Roberto Alonzo's staff, Mr. Ramón is a graduate of Stanford University, where he earned highest honors for academic distinction from El Centro Chicano as well as a bachelor's degree in political science with a minor in Spanish; this Del Rio native has a history of academic excellence, as he was the co-valedictorian of his class at Del Rio High School in 1997; and WHEREAS, Mr. Ramón has distinguished himself in Washington, D.C., as an intern with the U.S. Department of Justice and the Democratic Leadership Council, and he was also a 1999 fellow of the National Association of Latino Elected Officials; and WHEREAS, Admired for his intellect, eloquence, and disarming sense of humor, Mr. Ramón has earned the respect and friendship of his colleagues throughout the legislative community, and his future is indeed bright with promise; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to Daniel Omar Ramón on his 24th birthday and extend to him best wishes for continued success in all his future endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Ramón as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
