H.R. No. 1870
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Pecos County Precinct 4 justice of the peace Leldon
Greer retired on December 31, 2002, after 16 years as JP, and his
dedication and dutiful service are indeed worthy of special
recognition; and
WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Imperial, Judge Greer spent
many years with the local fire department and the emergency medical
service, working as fire chief and chief of EMS; he is an asset to
his community and has served on the school board, been actively
involved in the First Baptist Church, and run the clock for more
than 30 years' worth of home football games; and
WHEREAS, While his experience, good humor, and wise counsel
will be deeply missed at the courthouse, his retirement opens up new
opportunities for this esteemed Texan, and it is most appropriate
to wish him well; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Pecos County justice of the peace Leldon
Greer on the occasion of his retirement and extend to him warmest
best wishes for happiness and success in the years ahead; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Judge Greer as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
