H.R. No. 1875
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Highland Park High School girls' tennis team
recently won the 2003 Class 4A state singles and doubles
championships, adding yet another chapter to the school's history
of tennis excellence over the past 20 years; and
WHEREAS, Jessica Leitch, who was part of last year's doubles
championship team, won the 2003 singles title, with Amy Bedell and
Lauren Osborne claiming the doubles championship; and
WHEREAS, Head coach Dan Holden and assistant coach Tylir
Jimenez demonstrated exceptional leadership and skill, laboring to
encourage a strong work ethic in their young charges and inspiring
them to perform successfully at the highest level of competition;
and
WHEREAS, These exemplary young women and their coaches are a
tremendous source of pride to the students and faculty at Highland
Park High School and to their supporters in the community, and the
team is most deserving of high praise for this recent
accomplishment; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the members of the Highland Park
High School girls' tennis team on winning the 2003 Class 4A state
singles and doubles championships and extend to them sincere best
wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the team members and coaching staff as an expression of
high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
