R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Residents of North Texas lost an esteemed neighbor, friend, and community leader with the passing of Bob Schleider on May 31, 2003, at the age of 75; and WHEREAS, A native Texan, Mr. Schleider was born in Brenham on January 19, 1928; he was employed as a civil engineer, and over the course of his distinguished career, he won the respect and admiration of those with whom he worked for his dedication and skill; and WHEREAS, In his free time, this charitable gentleman gave generously of his energy and talents in support of his church, Floral Heights United Methodist Church, as well as various other worthwhile civic organizations, particularly the W. Erle and Emma White Hospice Center; and WHEREAS, Dedicated to serving others through both his personal and professional endeavors, Mr. Schleider received many awards for his efforts, including the designation of a day in his honor from the cities of Wichita Falls and College Station; and WHEREAS, Bob Schleider was a man of strong faith and unwavering devotion to his treasured family, to his profession, and to his fellow Texans, and while he will be greatly missed, his memory will live on in the hearts and minds of the many people whose lives he touched; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Bob Schleider and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife of 54 years, Ann; to his sons, Rob and his wife, Susan, Rick and his wife, Sherry, and Reg and his wife, Amy; to his dear grandchildren, Robby, Callie, Angela, Blake, Libby, Christina, and Corbin; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Bob Schleider.
