R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Nancy Bagwell has been named Teacher of the Year for
2003-2004 by the Dallas Independent School District (DISD); and
WHEREAS, A 10-year veteran of DISD, Ms. Bagwell currently
teaches English and language arts at Thomas C. Marsh Middle School,
and she serves as an instructional leader on her campus and mentor
to many beginning teachers; and
WHEREAS, This exceptional educator proved instrumental in
acquiring more than $15,000 in grants to support classroom
projects, and she received a 2002 Parent Teacher Association life
membership award in recognition for her work with students and
their families; and
WHEREAS, Exemplifying the best in her noble profession, Ms.
Bagwell inspires her students to excel, setting them firmly on the
path to a bright and rewarding future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Nancy Bagwell on being named the
Dallas Independent School District's 2003-2004 Teacher of the Year
and extend to her best wishes for continued success and happiness;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Bagwell as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
