H.R. No. 1903


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Lasara Independent School District indeed merits special legislative recognition for its long-standing commitment to excellence in education; and WHEREAS, The Lasara ISD has achieved "recognized" status from the Texas Education Agency for the past four years; for three-quarters of a century, the district has been served by one school that includes kindergarten through eighth grade and today provides for the education of approximately 300 students; the district is about to usher in an exciting new period with the opening of a modern 40,000-square-foot facility that will no doubt add to the district's proven ability to give its students a strong foundation on which to build; and WHEREAS, The Lasara ISD has made invaluable contributions to Willacy County throughout its history, and its record of success can be attributed in large part to the substantial support of the community it serves; and WHEREAS, The residents of Willacy County continue to reap the benefits of the fine education offered by the Lasara ISD, and it is truly a privilege to pay tribute to this noteworthy district and its many devoted educators, administrators, students, and staff; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby commend all those associated with the Lasara Independent School District for their dedication to the provision of an outstanding education; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the Lasara ISD as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
