H.R. No. 1904



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, May 2003 marked the conclusion of a distinguished 
career for Rolando Peña, and his retirement as superintendent of 
Rio Hondo Independent School District truly merits special 
legislative recognition; and
	WHEREAS, Long dedicated to the field of education, Mr. Peña 
brought a wealth of valuable experience to his position, including 
26 years as a teacher and administrator with the district; during 
his subsequent nine-year tenure as superintendent, he oversaw the 
construction of a new high school, elementary school, central 
administration building, and football stadium; and
	WHEREAS, Known for his dedication and sound judgment, Mr. 
Peña has won the respect and admiration of the many people with whom 
he has worked, and his contributions to the Rio Hondo ISD will 
benefit the community for many years to come; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby commend Rolando Peña on his exceptional tenure 
as superintendent of Rio Hondo Independent School District and 
extend to him sincere best wishes for happiness and success as he 
embarks on the next chapter of his life; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Peña as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
