H.R. No. 1908



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The Ricardo Independent School District indeed 
merits special legislative recognition for its long-standing 
commitment to excellence in education; and
	WHEREAS, Listed among the accomplishments of this 
exceptional educational system are exemplary ratings by the Texas 
Education Agency for the past two years, as well as the naming of 
Ricardo Middle School as a five-star school by Texas Monthly
magazine and Title I honor school; the Ricardo ISD has had teams 
place in the state and global competitions for Destination 
Imagination, and the district is home to the 2003 UIL Literary 
Contest district champions; moreover, the board of trustees was 
named a Regional Honor Board by the Texas Association of School 
Boards in 2001; and
	WHEREAS, The Ricardo ISD has made invaluable contributions to 
Kleberg County, and its record of success can be attributed in large 
part to the substantial support of the community it serves; and
	WHEREAS, The residents of Kleberg County continue to reap the 
benefits of the fine education offered by the Ricardo ISD, and it is 
truly a privilege to pay tribute to this noteworthy district and its 
many devoted educators, administrators, students, and staff; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby commend all those associated with the Ricardo 
Independent School District for their dedication to the provision 
of an outstanding education; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for the Ricardo ISD as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
