R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The La Feria Independent School District indeed 
merits special legislative recognition for its long-standing 
tradition of excellence in education; and
	WHEREAS, Rated an Exemplary School District by the Texas 
Education Agency for the 1999-2000 school year, the La Feria ISD has 
been designated a Recognized School District no fewer than five 
times; today the district includes a number of separate campuses 
for students at the high school, middle school, and elementary 
levels and provides for the education of approximately 2,750 
students; and
	WHEREAS, For many years, the La Feria ISD has made invaluable 
contributions to Cameron County, and its record of success can be 
attributed in great part to the substantial support of the 
community it serves; and
	WHEREAS, The residents of the Rio Grande Valley continue to 
reap the benefits of the fine education offered by the La Feria ISD, 
and it is truly a privilege to pay tribute to this noteworthy 
district and its many devoted educators, administrators, students, 
and staff; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby commend all those associated with the La Feria 
Independent School District for their commitment to the provision 
of an exceptional education.
