H.R. No. 1924



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives takes great 
pleasure in honoring South Padre Island and its many contributions 
to the State of Texas; and
	WHEREAS, Located at the southernmost tip of Padre Island, 
this treasure of the Lone Star State is flanked on three sides by 
the Gulf of Mexico, Brazos Santiago Pass, and the Laguna Madre; and
	WHEREAS, South Padre Island has become a goal for 
spring-breaking college students from across the United States, as 
beautiful beaches and warm gulf waters make the area an ideal 
vacation destination; in addition, outdoor enthusiasts may enjoy a 
wide variety of water sports, including sailing, deep-sea fishing, 
and surfing; and
	WHEREAS, Blessed with resplendent natural beauty and a 
forward-looking population, South Padre Island is making a notable 
contribution to the state's history and prosperity; now, therefore, 
be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby honor the people of South Padre Island and 
extend to them sincere best wishes for the future.
