H.R. No. 1976



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Throughout the course of her career at Kempner High 
School in Sugar Land, Ashley Lauren Lum has demonstrated 
initiative, leadership, and a determination to succeed, and her 
graduation cum laude provides a fitting opportunity to honor her; 
and
	WHEREAS, A member of the student council for four years, Ms. 
Lum has earned distinction through her participation in the 
National Honor Society and was also accorded the singular honor of 
being named prom queen; and
	WHEREAS, The daughter of Victor and Peggy Lum, this 
exceptional young Texan has worked to better her community as a 
youth leader at the Chinese Baptist Church and plans to continue her 
education at The University of Texas at Austin in the fall of 2003; 
and
	WHEREAS, Ashley Lauren Lum has exhibited a commitment to 
excellence in all her endeavors, a quality that will help her forge 
a bright future, and it is truly a pleasure to honor her at this 
time; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Ashley Lauren Lum on her graduation 
from Kempner High School and extend to her sincere best wishes for 
continued success and happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Ms. Lum as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
