H.R. No. 1981
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, SFC Ronald Neal Porter has served his nation with
distinction as a member of the United States Army for more than two
decades, and his meritorious service truly merits special
recognition; and
WHEREAS, A native of Marietta, Georgia, Sergeant Porter has
demonstrated the hard work, perseverance, and fortitude essential
for success in the military; his efforts allowed him to join the
ranks of an elite Special Forces Airborne unit, the Green Berets,
where he earned the rank of sergeant first class; and
WHEREAS, Over the course of his military career, Sergeant
Porter has participated in operations Desert Storm and Iraqi
Freedom and served tours in Italy, Peru, and Colombia; his
stateside service has included assignments at Fort Ord, California;
Fitzsimons Army Medical Center, Colorado; Fort Sam Houston, Texas;
and Fort Bragg, North Carolina; and
WHEREAS, This fine specimen of manhood inspires those around
him with his good humor and outstanding attitude; and when not
positively influencing others, he loves to spend his time jumping
out of airplanes; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant Porter has demonstrated a strong sense of
duty that reflects a deep commitment to his country and to his
fellow citizens, and his outstanding service is an inspiration to
those who follow in this challenging and vital service; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute and offer sincere thanks to Ronald
Neal Porter for the contributions he has made to his country and
extend to him best wishes for future success and happiness; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Sergeant Porter as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
