H.R. No. 1985



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Ron Segovia was recently elected to the San Antonio 
City Council to represent the constituents of District 3, and his 
many outstanding contributions to the Bexar County community are 
indeed deserving of special commendation; and
	WHEREAS, Born and raised in the neighborhood he now serves, 
Councilman Segovia is a 1975 graduate of the police academy who has 
earned the respect of his peers for his exemplary tenure as a 
patrolman; his illustrious career in law enforcement has spanned 
nearly three decades, during which time he has participated in SWAT 
missions and helped to prevent drug abuse, gang violence, and 
criminal activity, each day on the job helping to make San Antonio a 
better place in which to live; in addition to his work as a peace 
officer, he owns a successful retail jewelry store and gives 
generously of his time to many civic organizations; and
	WHEREAS, In taking on the challenges of municipal public 
service, Councilman Segovia has joined the proud tradition of 
citizen leadership that has been our nation's hallmark for more 
than two centuries, and he can take justifiable pride in the role he 
is playing in this noble legacy; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Ron Segovia on his election to the 
District 3 seat on the San Antonio City Council and extend to him 
best wishes for continued success and happiness in his future 
endeavors; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Councilman Segovia as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
