R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Roger Flores, Jr., was recently elected to the San
Antonio City Council to represent the constituents of District 1,
and his many outstanding contributions to the Bexar County
community are indeed deserving of special commendation; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of Texas A&M University, where he was a
member of both the Corps of Cadets and the Fighting Texas Aggie
Band, Councilman Flores has ably carried on his family's restaurant
business, successfully managing the popular eateries Little Mitla
and La Paloma del Rio; he is also a respected civic leader who
currently serves as vice president of the St. Anthony Elementary
School Board, on the board of Positive Beginnings, Inc., and as the
coach of several youth sports teams in the Alamo City area; and
WHEREAS, In taking on the challenges of municipal public
service, Councilman Flores has joined the proud tradition of
citizen leadership that has been our nation's hallmark for more
than two centuries, and he can take justifiable pride in the role he
is playing in this noble legacy; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Roger Flores, Jr., on his election
to the District 1 seat on the San Antonio City Council and extend to
him best wishes for continued success and happiness in his future
endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Councilman Flores as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
