R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Joel Williams was recently elected to the San
Antonio City Council to represent the constituents of District 2,
and his many outstanding contributions to the Bexar County
community are indeed deserving of special commendation; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of St. Philip's College and Our Lady of
the Lake University, Councilman Williams is currently employed as a
professionally trained manager with the federal government and is a
retired member of the U.S. Army Reserves; demonstrating compassion
and integrity in every facet of his life, he has given generously of
his time and resources to support Habitat for Humanity, the United
Way, the East Central I.S.D., the Lakeside Neighborhood
Association, and the San Antonio Police and Firefighters Civil
Service Commission; and
WHEREAS, In taking on the challenges of municipal public
service, Councilman Williams has joined the proud tradition of
citizen leadership that has been our nation's hallmark for more
than two centuries, and he can take justifiable pride in the role he
is playing in this noble legacy; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Joel Williams on his election to
the District 2 seat on the San Antonio City Council and extend to
him best wishes for continued success and happiness in his future
endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Councilman Williams as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
