R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Jose Alexandro Lozano was recently elected to the El Paso City Council, and his commitment to his community truly merits special legislative recognition; and WHEREAS, Jose Alexandro Lozano is business leader in El Paso, having owned Alexandro's Restaurants since 1973 and being involved in many other diverse business activities; and WHEREAS, He is active in the community through his work with: the Texas restaurant Association, the Hispanic Restaurant Association, the Advisory Council for the Institute of Mexico for the Exterior, Goodwill, Cielo Vista Kiwanis, Bal Air Optimist Club, the El Paso/Juarez Border Relations Committee, the Convention and Tourism Bureau, the Mexican Food Capital of the World Association, the Ascarte Recreation Association, the El Paso Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, the Border Relations Commission, the International Boundary and Water Commission, the International Bridge Commission, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Small Business Advisory Board, the All American City Committee, the El Paso Technical High School, the El Paso Committee for Vocational Education, and the El Paso Job Corps; and WHEREAS, Earlier this year he met with Mexican President Vincente Fox, as a Consular Advisory for the Institute of Mexicans Living Abroad; and WHEREAS, The demands of public office are great and, in taking on this difficult challenge, Jose Alexandro Lozano has joined the proud tradition of citizen leadership that has been our nation's trademark for more than two centuries, and he can take justifiable pride in the role he will play in this noble legacy; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Jose Alexandro Lozano on his recent election to the El Paso City Council and extend to him best wishes for future success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Lozano as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
