R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Linda Chavez won election to the District 7 seat of the Ysleta Independent School District Board of Trustees on May 31, 2003, and it is most appropriate to honor her for her exemplary dedication to enhancing the education of El Paso schoolchildren; and WHEREAS, Providing youth with a quality education is essential to creating a prosperous future for our state and nation, and public schools are the cornerstone of this crucial endeavor; and WHEREAS, Local school board members unite their efforts with those of parents and classroom teachers and other education professionals to provide the best possible learning environment for area students; and WHEREAS, The individuals who serve on local school boards are fueled by an unwavering commitment to meeting students' current needs and to anticipating future challenges as well; and WHEREAS, Ms. Chavez, who will be sworn into office on June 4, 2003, seeks to broaden the path of educational opportunity for students in El Paso, and she is indeed worthy of special recognition; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Linda Chavez of El Paso on her election to the board of trustees of the Ysleta Independent School District and extend to her best wishes for future success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Chavez as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
