A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to electronic reporting of political contributions and 
expenditures for certain candidates and officeholders.
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Section 254.036(g), Election Code, is amended to 
read as follows:
	(g)  A person required to file a report with the commission 
in connection with the office of [district judge,] district 
attorney[,] or judge of a multicounty statutory county court may 
file reports that comply with Subsection (a).
	SECTION 2.  Section 254.036(g), Election Code, as amended by 
this Act, applies only to a report filed under Chapter 254, Election 
Code, on or after September 1, 2003.
	SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2003.
